What it is for
Drafts arrive in the wrong case: a title in caps, a sentence with no capitals, a heading that should be Title Case, or an identifier that needs snake_case. This page rewrites the letters. It does not check spelling or grammar, and it does not rewrite your wording.
Use it for headings, product names, code identifiers, URL slugs and quick tidy-ups before you paste into a CMS or editor. For a word and character count on the same passage, use the Word Counter. For stripping messy spaces and blank lines, see the Text Cleaner.
What each case does
- UPPERCASE / lowercase: every letter up or down; punctuation stays.
- Title Case: capitalises the first letter of most words and leaves short words such as “and”, “of” and “the” in lowercase unless they start the line.
- Sentence case: capitalises after a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
- tOGGLE cASE: flips each letter’s current case.
- camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE: for identifiers and slugs, not prose. They split on spaces, hyphens and existing capitals, strip punctuation, then join the pieces.
Why it runs in your browser
The conversion stays in the tab. Nothing is sent to Catpool. Close the page and the text is gone. That matters for unpublished posts, cover letters and client copy.
Tips
- Copy out anything important before experimenting: Undo only goes back one step.
- Use UPPER / lower / Title / Sentence when you need punctuation left alone; use the programmer cases only for identifiers.
- Title Case here is a simple “small words stay short” rule, not a full Chicago or AP implementation.
Common questions
Does Title Case follow a style guide?
It follows a simple “small words stay short” rule. Chicago, AP and house styles disagree on the details. Check the brief if the title is going to print.
Will camelCase keep my punctuation?
No. Those programmer cases split on spaces, hyphens and existing capitals, then join the pieces. Use UPPER / lower / Title / Sentence if you need the punctuation left alone.
Can I undo more than once?
Undo swaps back to the last version only. Copy out anything you need to keep before running another case.
Does it change spelling or wording?
No. Only letter case (and, for the identifier modes, how words are joined). Meaning and spelling stay as you pasted them.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Processing stays in the browser. Close the tab when you are finished.
What is tOGGLE cASE for?
It flips each letter’s current case, handy when a whole block landed in the wrong shift state and you want a quick invert before refining with Title or Sentence case.
