What it is for
Finding the right colours isn’t always easy, especially when you’re trying to balance shades that actually work together. This generator gives you coherent palettes in one click, then lets you lock in your favourites and roll the rest. That is useful for mock-ups, blog headers, presentation slides, simple branding experiments and UI accents without opening a full design suite.
Pastel leans to soft and muted. Vibrant pushes saturation. Dark suits night-mode layouts. Earthy stays in natural browns and greens. Monochromatic keeps everything in one family of hues. Random mixes freely when you want a random mix. You can lock a particular colour that you like while exploring other colours that still fit the chosen style.
Once you have a set, Copy Palette is handy for notes and mood boards. Copy CSS helps when you are dropping values straight into a stylesheet or a theme customiser. For related browser tools, see the QR Code Generator when a design needs a scannable link, or the Image Compressor & Converter if you need assets in a specific format.
Why it runs in your browser
Palettes are created locally in the page. Nothing is uploaded, and you do not need an account. You can experiment freely on a work machine or a phone without sending colour choices to a remote service.
Common questions
What does locking a colour do?
A locked swatch stays fixed when you generate again. Unlocked swatches are replaced with new colours that still follow the style you selected, so the palette evolves around the pieces you already like.
Which style should I start with?
If you are not sure, try Pastel for soft interfaces, Vibrant for marketing graphics, Dark for low-light UIs, and Earthy for natural or outdoor themes. Monochromatic is a safe choice when you want harmony without contrast between hues.
What is the difference between Copy Palette and Copy CSS?
Copy Palette gives you the colour values themselves so you can paste them into notes, design tools or a brief. Copy CSS formats them as stylesheet-friendly snippets so you can drop them into code more quickly.
Can I use the colours commercially?
Colour values generated here are ordinary hex (and related) codes. There is no special licence on the numbers themselves; use them in your own projects as you would any colour you picked by hand. Always check brand guidelines if you are matching an existing identity.
Does this replace a full design tool?
No. It is a fast way to explore combinations and copy values. For detailed contrast checks, accessibility audits or brand systems you may still want dedicated design software. This page is for the quick first pass.
