About the Create tools
Create is the workshop part of Catpool. Bring a photo, a short clip, a colour or a messy block of text, and leave with something finished: a GIF, a smaller image, a matching palette, a QR code for a poster, a barcode for a shelf label, or copy that’s clean and the right length.
It’s handy for small business owners making their own labels and social posts, teachers and students putting together projects, people running clubs and events, and anyone who just wants a picture under an upload limit without installing an editor.
What’s in this hub
Images and GIFs
The GIF Maker builds a GIF from images or a short MP4 or WebM, with a timeline for reordering frames and setting delays. The Image Compressor & Converter shrinks a photo or turns JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP into JPG, PNG or WebP, resizing on the way, and shows the before and after sizes so you can see what you saved.
Colour and codes
The Image Colour Picker reads hex, RGB and HSL from any pixel, and can sample from anywhere on your screen in browsers that support it. The Colour Palette Generator lets you lock swatches you like and regenerate the rest in styles from pastel to triadic. The QR Code Generator covers websites, Wi-Fi, contacts, email, SMS and map pins, and the Barcode Generator handles Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A and more, as SVG or PNG.
Text
The Word Counter adds reading and speaking time. The Text Cleaner and Case Converter fix copy pasted from PDFs and emails. Morse Code and Upside-down & Reverse Text are for puzzles and fun.
How the tools work
Your files and words are handled by your own browser. Photos, video frames and text aren’t uploaded to Catpool, and when you close the tab they’re gone. The GIF Maker, QR Code Generator and Barcode Generator load their open-source drawing code from a public code library when the page opens. Only the code comes down; your images and text don’t go up with it.
- No sign-up and no account
- Files stay on your device
- Download as PNG, SVG, JPG, WebP or GIF, depending on the tool
When to use them
A form only accepts images under 2MB and your phone photo is 6MB: compress it to WebP or JPG and check the new size before you submit. You’re printing a menu for a village fete: make a Wi-Fi QR code so people can join without asking for the password. A shop needs shelf labels for home-made jam: generate the barcodes as SVG so they print sharply. You’ve matched a logo colour with the picker: lock it in the palette generator and build a scheme around it.
The text tools earn their place on dull jobs. Text copied out of a PDF often breaks every line in the middle of a sentence. The Text Cleaner joins it back up and strips stray spaces and curly quotes, and the Word Counter tells you if you’re still over a 500-word limit.
Common questions
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Converting, compressing, picking colours and building GIFs all happen in the tab.
Will a QR code I make here stop working?
No. The code holds your link or details directly, with no redirect in between, so it works for as long as the website or Wi-Fi details inside it stay the same.
Can I use the barcodes in a real shop?
You can print them for stock and shelf labels. Selling through retailers usually needs official EAN or UPC numbers registered with GS1, and the generator can’t issue those.
Why is my GIF so large?
GIF is an old format. Fewer frames, a smaller width or fewer colours will bring the size down quickly.
